Who Can Apply?

Students who have graduated from any institution that is the equivalent of Turkish high schools and those who meet the application criteria below may apply for admission to undergraduate programs at Boğaziçi University.

a) On condition that they have graduated or expecting graduation from a high-school;

1) Foreign nationals, on the condition that those studying in Turkish secondary education (high school) institutions registered before the 2022-2023 academic year (except for embassy schools, international private education institutions in the MOBIS system, and foreign nationals brought to our country under the Ministry of National Education's project).

2) Those who are Turkish citizens by birth but have renounced their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission to renounce their Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Interior, and those who certify that they have a Blue Card, which is given upon request to those who have lost their Turkish citizenship (for those studying in secondary education [high school] institutions in Türkiye, registered before the 2022-2023 academic year).

Turkish Citizenship Law, Number 5901, Article 7, states that “(1) A child born to a Turkish mother or through a Turkish father within the unity of marriage either in Türkiye or abroad is a Turkish citizen.”

Candidates who want apply under the “applications from abroad” category are advised to review the Turkish Citizenship Law.

3) Foreign nationals who have acquired citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye / those who hold dual citizenship, (On the condition that those studying in Turkish secondary education (high school) institutions registered before the 2022-2023 academic year)

4) Those who are citizens of Türkiye and who completed their entire high school education in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed their high school education in Turkish institutions established by the Ministry of Education in a foreign country other than the TRNC,

5) TRNC citizens who reside in TRNC and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, as well as those who registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010.

The following are not eligible to apply for admission to the undergraduate programs at Boğaziçi University,

b) Applicants;

1) Those who hold Turkish citizenship and completed their secondary education in Türkiye or in TRNC,

2) Those who hold TRNC citizenship (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),

3) Those who hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye by birth, as stated in Article (a) Item 2 above (except for those who satisfy the criteria stated in Article (a) Item 4),

4) Those who hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of TRNC (except for those who have completed their whole secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),

5) Those who hold citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye or dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye by birth, as stated in Article a) Item 2) above, and who have completed their secondary education in institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Türkiye,

6) TRNC citizens who enrolled in secondary education institutions in Türkiye as of the 2022-2023 academic year, Turkish citizens, and those who have lost their citizenship and have blue cards, can not apply for undergraduate study at Boğaziçi University.
